As of June 1st, 2015, all dentists must make a choice. We must enroll in Medicare Part B or opt out. If we do not do one of these options, anytime we refer a patient for testing or treatment or write an rx for any patient over the age of 65 or on Medicare, the patient will not have any coverage from their Medicare insurance plan. This option allows you to become enrolled in Medicare Part B as an ordering and referring provider only. This will allow your patients to use their Medicare benefits but you will not be able to bill Medicare for any exams or procedures. There is no additional fee from Medicare for this application. This fee is non-refundable.
